SpeedTax Corporate History
SpeedTax was founded by Anton Donde and Morris Karolicki on the premise that businesses of all sizes should be able to confidently, accurately and affordably outsource the most repetitious and time-consuming aspects of sales tax compliance, while simultaneously accessing sales tax management tools built to rigorous CPA specifications.
When designing its solution, SpeedTax took aim at the negative effects of sales tax complexity on business operations and growth. With over 13,000 taxing authorities across the country, thousands of rule and jurisdiction boundary changes every year, and a host of business-specific exemptions, exceptions and variations, sales tax compliance is an operational burden and distraction that must be streamlined in order to scale a business efficiently into new markets.
SpeedTax also examined the shortcomings of previously introduced sales tax solutions—solutions that have either under-delivered on professional level compliance management functionality or required expensive enterprise-level software with high ongoing maintenance requirements. Whether inelegant, or oversized and overpriced, these solutions have left America’s businesses with little to choose from to help them cost-effectively simplify the burden of sales tax compliance.
