SpeedTax Tax Address Validation and Jurisdiction Determination

SpeedTax Core - our real-time sales and use tax calculation engine, brings on-demand, accurate sales tax calculations into your existing ERP, POS, or eCommerce system through pre-built integrations or through our Software Developer's Kit (SDK).  Core is always up-to-date with geographic data, and state and local tax rules, while supporting your unique tax rules and requirements.

Determining the correct tax rules and calculating the correct tax amounts requires accurate Address Validation.  SpeedTax uses the latest USPS CASS technology as well as sophisticated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to validate ship-from and ship-to addresses.  We use these tools for two reasons; (1) determine the taxing jurisdictions associated with the tax transaction and (2) inform our clients of any issue with a specific address.  For example, is the ship-to address considered by USPS to be a non-deliverable address (ex: an empty lot)?

SpeedTax Core validates all the addresses for your customers (and for as many addresses for each customer as are needed).  This can be done in batch or in real-time mode, whenever an address is added or modified within the ERP application.  Jurisdiction determination is done by specific address, also known as rooftop mapping. This is the most precise, detailed jurisdiction mapping service available today.
